Not All Heroes Wear Capes (Award-Winning Author)

Ben knows everything there is to know about superheroes. He has their powers, costumes, secret identities, and sidekicks all carefully recorded in his superhero database.

But when his sister tells him about the real heroes working in conflict and disaster zones, Ben discovers a whole new kind of hero. From journalists and health care workers to volunteers, parents, rescue workers, and even rescue dogs, these everyday heroes show extraordinary courage, strength, and selflessness.

Through a lively conversation between Ben and his sister, children are introduced to the courage, strength, kindness, and selflessness of people who help others in the most difficult circumstances.

A thoughtful story that encourages children to look beyond capes and superpowers and recognize the heroes all around us.
